The Ponoka Jubilee Library is a member of the Parkland Library System.  Located in Ponoka’s downtown, the Jubilee Library offers a variety of services to the Town residents.  Some of these services include:

Interlibrary loans	Block loans to lodges
Province-wide book returns	Access to on-line database

Public computer access	Photocopying and Laminating

The Ponoka Jubilee Library also provides the following to its members:

Membership Fees

Library memberships, either individuals or family, cost $20.00 per year, valid for one year from the date of purchase.  The person named on the card is responsible for all items signed out on that card.  Your membership entitles you to borrowing privileges at any member library of the Parkland Regional System.  Also, a Ponoka membership in good standing gives you access to an Alberta Library Card (TAL card), valid at over 200 Alberta libraries.  Certain restrictions apply to TAL cards:  please confirm loan policies at individual libraries.

Library Cards

Please present your library card each time you wish to sign out items.  Replacement cards are available at $1.00 each.  Cards which are lost or stolen should be reported immediately by calling 403.783.3843.  Anything signed out on your card is your responsibility until the card is reported lost or stolen.

Loan Periods

The loan period is three (3) weeks for Books and Audio Books, and one (1) week for Magazines, Videos, and CDs.  To renewals are allowed on any items not overdue or reserved for another patron.  Items may be renewed in person, over the telephone, or via the internet.

Overdue and Lost Items

Overdue charges are $0.25 per day per item to the cost of the item.

Default costs for lost or damaged items are:

A $5.00 processing fee will also be added to these costs.

Holds

Library items not available when you visit the library may be reserved.  Holds may be placed on any item within the Parkland System, including items currently checked out and those still on order.  Ponoka Jubilee Library will honor any holds for our patrons first, then those from other libraries.  Holds may be placed in person, over the telephone, or via the Internet.  You will be notified when the item is available.  Please check our best seller board for new and notable titles you may wish to reserve.  All reference materials and items held in school libraries are exempt from reserves.  Subject requests should be placed the library staff.

Computers

Three (5) public access computers are available for Internet use, E-mail, and word processing.  A sixth computer is reserved for quick reference only.  Games have been installed on a separate computer for the use of young children.  There is no charge for the use of any of these computers, but donations are always welcome.  Computer time is booked in one-hour slots and may be reserved in person or by phone.  Printing (black and white only) is also available at $0.20 per page.
