Trails
The Diamond Willow Trail System is 5.2 kilometer of paved trail situated along the east banks of the scenic Battle River. The paved trails wander among a variety of trees, through open spaces, sharing the River Valley with waterfowl, song birds and other wildlife. The trails are ideal for walkers, joggers, cyclists and in-line skaters to enjoy the benefits of a natural area.
The Battle River Trail Expansion Committee was formed to assist with the planning and continued development of the trail system. The Committee’s vision is for a safe and user friendly series of trails that will eventually encircling the entire Town. The trail expansion to date has included the addition of interpretive and direction signage, benches, picnic tables and an information kiosk which houses the names of the trail sponsors. Future plans include trail development along the river south toward Highway 2A.
We invite your donation toward continued development of the trails in Ponoka or towards an amenity which will be very important along the trail. Donations can be made at the Town Office (5102 48 Ave.). Donation options are as follows:
$10,000 and over Platinum Sponsor or Gazebo with Inscription
$5,000 Gold Sponsor or Rock with Inscription
$2,500 Silver Sponsor or Park Bench with Inscription
