WATER, SEWER AND SOLID WASTE

New Customers

New Customers should phone 403-783-0111 or come into the Town Office Utility Department during office hours 9:00 am-4:30 pm  Monday thru Friday to hook up for water, sewer & solid waste. A deposit of $150.00 is required which is refundable after 1 year provided there are no more than 2 late payments, no arrears, no disconnects or NSF payments. The deposit will be waived if you can supply a credit reference letter from a previous utility company that states you were a good customer for the 12 previous months.

If either of these options are not suitable, you can sign up for our Automatic Direct Debit Utility Payment (ADDUP) where your utility bill amount will be taken directly out of your bank account. Payments are set up to come out of your bank account on the 1st day or the 16th day of the month depending on which cycle you are in. A void cheque is required to sign up for this option.

In addition, the Town of Ponoka does not offer solid waste collection services for commercial and industrial business. It is the responsibility of each individual business to secure this service. For more information on contractors available to perform solid waste collection services for your business, please contact the Town at 403-783-4431.  

ELECTRICAL

The Town of Ponoka owns and operates the electrical utility system within the Town limits. As a Wire Owner, it is the Town's responsibility to ensure power is delivered to all homes and business' within our service area.

If you experience problems related to the delivery of power to your residence or business in the Town of Ponoka, please phone our utility department during office hours which are 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday at 403-783-0133.
